For those that don't know, lots of bakers have a tradition of naming their sourdoughs; their creation. Makes it personal. Mine was always known, to me at least, as The Bitch.
That's a weird/strange/nasty/upsetting name to call it Andy! Not really. A starter DEMANDS time. It DEMANDS effort. Like a spoilt (spoiled?) woman or child. Always nagging, demanding time & effort.
Plus it’s quite fun…..makes for some great conversation.
