Reclaim my life

Stop looking at a tiny screen

Stop living my life through it

I watch people with their mobile phones. An addiction for so many, it never leaves their hand. It's become an addendum to their body. So sad. Life is out there happening for real and they're staring at a screen.

So, I'm trying an experiment. Put aside my "mobile computer" and go back to just have a mobile phone. Now I appreciate they come in all sizes.... in fact here's some photographic history of mine......

The one on the left...... the handset decoupled and you plugged that into the car. The "box* went in the boot. Back to a fixed car phone. Was known in the trade as a "transportable".

Jump forward a little and we get to "pocket" phones. Then to smart phone, then to full blown computer in your hand.

The one on the right is my new one. A Nokia. Again. Only this is a phone. Just a phone. It makes and receives calls. Can send texts too. Even has a radio built in. Oh and a camera. A few games pre installed but in reality it's just a phone.

Bit of a detox

Update 20th Nov:- It is incredibly hard. The world isn't geared for such phones anymore. Perhaps we aren't either. Getting old but the screen size is restrictive. The lack of Skype and Whatsapp too really do make it just a phone and we've changed the way we communicate with one another. A phone call isn't it anymore.

Come on Jolla, send me my new mobile please!!
