When I lived in the UK, I would travel lots. Define lots. Around 128 -190,000 kilometers (80'000 to 120'000 miles) per year.  That means I have witnessed more than a fair few road accidents*. Some really nasty. Bad driving skills. Lack of attention.

So I’ve seen a number of dead bodies in my time. Some almost dead that passed away in front of me. Or in my arms.

And a few that I’ve saved. That First Aid that keeps them alive until professional help arrives.

Dominican Republic which hits 64.6

Take Africa.

Zimbabwe 63.47

Malawi 57.15

and we could go through the whole of Africa with frightening numbers. 40 and above. Nearly everywhere.

Even the USA is at 11.1

It’s only when we get to Europe that one sees a substantial drop in the numbers. All 7 or under.

*Only Singapore 1.69 beats Switzerland 1.71 for being the lowest of the table. Both islands I suppose. This is deaths by road accident per 100’000 of the population.

Your car is a weapon. It deserves respect and it demands your full attention. Other road users DEMAND your full attention.

Be careful out there. No sodding about with your phone, sending texts etc. whilst driving. Focus on the road.
