My sister broke my nose when I was a young kid. She swung a swing at me in the garden. Big metal thing not chains.

To the hospital.

Pick my nose and it would bleed. And continue bleeding. Trips to A&E became the norm.

My poor mother.

I would end up with it stuffed with bandage, looking like a nose bag.

So, no sports at school, no mucking around, be careful.

Finally everyone had had enough. Stay in hospital where they rebroke it, straigthened it and reset it. No more stretched blood vessels. I think they burnt out a few which is maybe why it goes dark when it's cold.

Luckily it hasn't bled in ages.

Since the heart op. - blood thinners, and with only 6 layers of skin, falling asleep on the sofa and then rolling over and off into a glass table isn't really a sensible thing to do.

112*. Ambulance. Has left a scar.

*112 as opposed to 999. Both were done for the old rotary dial fones - 112 being the shortest without getting it wrong i.e. misdialling 111
