I decided to take the plunge and buy a new Mac. It arrived today (31st Dec).

I'm going into retirement so I thought I would take the leap to prepare for the future.

My current Mac mini is from 2020. It's based on the Apple M1 chip.

Apple has made massive steps forward in it's chip tech to the extent that new Macs are based on the M4 chip. M1 to M4 :- Some distance. 

I don't want to tempt fate or carry over any of the crap that 2025 threw at me so I'm waiting until tomorrow - the 1st of the New Year - to set it up.
